Men don't Cry ran a fair race at Lingfield but didn't handle the track like he does on the dead level but more importantly he had a rough old passage. So we returned to Ffos Las more hopeful. Alas there was a distinct lack of pace in the race and Mark ended up making the running which simply set it up for the closers. He has still run with credit being placed yet again. He will either go to Wolves in 10 days time or possibly back to Ffos Las in a 0-70. A better calibre of horse might just take them along a bit quicker so I will mull it all over once entries are out.

We pulled King out of the Nunthorpe on the morning of the race as the ground had turned against him. We had him in at the Curragh and its 24hr decs there so a quick check of the forecast and current ground, loaded up and off to Holyhead! All a bit hectic but I stand by our decision he came 4th beaten a length from an average draw. He will now possibly go for the L'abbaye. I know what you will say, October the ground will have gone but lets just wait and see!

We arrived back at 5am had a quick shower and coffee and loaded up for Yarmouth with Diamondhead and Mingun. The ground wasn't quick enough for Diamondhead and he didn't handle the track that well, but still managed 2nd! Mingun didn't stay pure and simple. Its such a shame there are not more races at Southwell as he is lbs better there.

Break Rank won at Epsom. The ground and track suit him and he really pleased me how he fought out the finish. He traveled like a dream through the race and James gave him a peach. His next target is a Ayr in 2 weeks. This horse will make a cracking jumper and so will go to the sales at the end of the season unless of course anyone wants to buy him now at a discount to stay in the yard of course!!

Hostile Fire was green and will only improve with time.

Mahadee had his ground at Salisbury and the race was run to suit. Chloe followed instructions to a tee apart from the winning margin! The handicapper has put him up 12lbs! I am sorry but that is ridiculous he is an 8yo and it was an amateur race but what can you do!

Smidge had a poor draw at Salisbury and when brought out, hung very badly stand side. That was greenness so he will only improve. He will I am sure win his races but lets get some experience under his belt.

Jinker did handle Brighton and didn't bounce he just ran into one! He finished 2nd so that was very pleasing. I am toying with a drop to 5f and Chester with him!

Croq goes to Haydock tomorrow providing the ground doesn't change too much! Mingun,Marengo,Kopenhagen and Zugzwang all go to Kempton! Fish goes to Kempton on Saturday. Busy busy, has to be a good thing!
